Info about this rotary encoder. At some point in the run of MPC 1000 Akai switched the board that is used in the unit. Due to this switch the rotary encoder behaves differently depending on the type of board you have (there is no way to check for this on the board).What this means is that the encoder you are purchasing will move two clicks for every one it would naturally move. Then you will have to cursor out to go back. It is the only replacement for the encoder.
